The video case study of Safecity is live and ready to be voted! Please watch it and press the ‘Thumbs up‘ button at top right (it appears when you start playing the video) of the video to cast your vote. 

Safecity uses Google Map to make India safe for women. It has made it the final 9 entries and now needs public votes to make it to the top 3 among the Startup success stories announced by Google, Safecity and our chapter will win financial benefits if it makes a podium finish.

November 10th 2014.

Safecity.in has made it to 1 among the 9 finalist!

A video shoot was commissioned by Google and the same is under post production now; The 9 finalists will be be featured on Google’s global page and will be up for voting, which along with other judging criteria will determine the 3 winners.

Parinita (E-commerce retailer) and Indian Anthem Project (Voices crowdsourced for a virtual music choir project) made it to  the 36 semi finalist.

October 10th 2014.

Google recently initiated Startup Success Stories, a global program to bring emerging startups to limelight; GBG Mumbai nominated 12 success stories, so did rest of the 160 chapters across the world did; which resulted in having over 350+ stories submitted. We has received a share of initial success; 3 out of the 36 stories shortlisted to the semi finals are from Mumbai.

 

Success is a pursuit and not a destination, for us this is a humble and happy beginning to have helped showcase two startups to the world through a magnifying lens called Google.

Congratulations to safecity.in and iaproject.in for making it to the semi finals. The most heartening part of the journey is that, both the projects are by women entrepreneurs, Elsa & Sharanya respectively.

We wish them all the best to have a podium finish.
